Hi Everyone!I've been wanting to blog - Mark is in the garage and I'm trying to watch some of the ELLEN shows I have on the dvr and putting away some of Saba's clothes that are all over the place when I change her in a rush - all the while making sure Hanz doesn't get in to trouble! What kind of trouble? Oh, his favorite - going into our bedroom and walking off w/some of my socks and Crocs! He's already had his bath today, as he will be going w/us to Rockport on Sunday to see Uncle Jim and Aunt Shelley! Hanz will be staying to visit w/his cousins Ripley, Emee, Betsy and Katy while we are in CO! We won't leave him out there until Tuesday night, but we want to make sure and get him acquainted first! It's breaking my heart to think of leaving my baby for several days, but he'll probably have a blast out there! Jim and Shelley live on a big piece of property out in the country and their friends Linda and Buddy also have pets! They have a yorkie named Hockey and all of them are dog lovers, so Hanz will be very well taken care of! Sniff, sniff, waaaah!Ok! Back to the reason I'm blogging! Went to see Dr. Zane on Thursday, and Mark came with me - I've been wanting him to see how awesome Dr. Zane really is and what excellent work he does! I'm posting lots of photos of our office visit, so get ready for that! Dr. Zane is so personable! He saw I was reading the book "The Kite Runner" and said he had read and enjoyed it as well! Also browsed through the photos I had with me of our little angel Hanz, since Dr. Zane's family has several Brussels of their own! Isn't that awesome? The Brussels he and his wife have looks like such a little princess!So! The tech told Mark she was happy to meet him, as I talk about him all the time! Dr. Zane took a look inside my ear and was happy w/the healing process since the last time I had seen him! Still had to get some of the scabbing and old, dead tissue out of there - the look on my face in one photo tells you how painful that was! Mark took photos of the screen we were seeing everything Dr. Zane was doing on!Dr. Zane has these tools to scrape the scab and tissue and to snip it if he doesn't want to pull any further! At one point of course, there had to be bleeding! Right away, Dr. Zane gets a Q-tip and puts pressure on the bleeding area! He also puts a cotton ball in my ear, so that the blood won't go inside my ear. He checks to see if it's still bleeding, and of course it is, so he gets another Q-tip and puts some more pressure on there. Can you say, "PAIN"?! Ugh! This is no fun at all! At one point when he was pulling on a scab I had to yell out, "OUCH"! Seems like I was holding my breath the entire time Dr. Zane was debriding my inner ear! Dr. Zane cauterized the area where I was bleeding from - yikes! That burned, whew! I just have to say how impressed I have been with Dr. Zane! He is in complete control of the situation and my having an avm and a bleed have not been a problem @ all for him! His confidence puts my mind @ ease, knowing that he is doing as much as he can to make sure I heal in the best possible way! I wanted Mark to go with me, as it's kind of hard to explain what all I go through during one of my office visits with Dr. Zane! I wanted to especially share this with all of you - this is why your prayers help me so much! This is not easy @ all! There is so much discomfort going on with my ear - it drains, it's scabbed on the inside and out, and of course painful! My appt. was @ 1:00 pm and I was not pain free until about 4:30pm! Got back to work by 2:00 pm and had a rough afternoon! My co-worker Kathy left for the day as soon as I returned, and I had ten defendants show up that I had to tend to! I was just so anxious to call it a day come 5pm, so I could relax and know that it was finally the weekend! I rushed home so I could go on the walk with Mark and Hanz since my knee had felt well all day! It wasn't until I was talking to my mom @ about 6:45pm that I realized I had forgotten my pain management appt. I had @ 5:30 pm! Mom had asked how my appts. went and I gasped when I realized I had completely zoned out that doctors appt. I had @ 5:30pm! I've since rescheduled it to Tuesday afternoon - the day before we leave for Denver! I have just enough pain meds to get through until that appt.! I also have a wound care appt. the same day I go back to work after my upcoming embolization!I called Shalon a few minutes ago, as I boo booed and put one photo twice on this blog and I don't know how to remove it! Shalon is my blog creator/maintainer! I want to thank so many of you that tell me how much you enjoy reading my blog! I'm hoping to hear from Wendy soon after her embolization last week! She makes the trip from Canada to see Dr. Yakes! Her avm affects her upper lip and pallet!I am soooo ready for this avm business to be overwith! It has been very overwhelming and I do have these little break downs @ times! Our original plan had been for Celia to go with me on this next trip to Denver. Unfortunately, since her mother-in-law Pat has been in ICU in Houston the last week or so, Celia is much needed there for her husband Greg and their family. I'm very happy that Mark is going with me - especially since I am still having bleeds - I think I mentioned before that Mark handles these situations very well and that eases my stress! At least I won't be missing Mark AND Hanz - this way, I'll only be missing my furry kid while in Denver! My co-worker Kathy said to me the other day, "It's just a dog"! Excuse me? I know what she is trying to say .. but first of all, a Brussels is never "just a dog"! Secondly, he is the newest member of our family - and I mean entire family! Hanz goes with us to Grandmas - there is no way I'm leaving him home alone while we're on a family visit or occasion! Lastly, Mark and I are completely in love with Hanz and are having a blast taking him for walks and just enjoying everything about him! Ok, ok ... I know, enough gushing about the little prince!I don't think I'll blog until after our return from this upcoming embolization! Both Shalon and I will be @ Swedish @ the same time, so wish us luck! We hope to get some great photos of the two of us! Please do keep up w/Shalons website and blog - she always has interesting things to say and great photos! You can get to her site from mine! Sounds like you may have an ear infection if this is a new development. The ability to hear your pulse is referred to as vascular tinnitus. Tinnitus means rining, and vascular refers to you circulatory system. Here is an article I found on YourTotalHealth.ivillage.com."Question :What causes the sound of your pulse to be heard in your ears?P.L.Answer :This is known as "pulsating" or "vascular" tinnitus. (Tinnitus generally means ringing or roaring in the ears.) Here is a list of the possible causes of pulsating tinnitus: 1. Chronic inflammation or infection of the middle ear. It can be treated with medication (antibiotics, decongestants, nasal steroid sprays and so forth) or surgery. 4. Vascular tumors. Such tumors in the middle ear go by a variety of names, but are most commonly referred to as "glomus" tumors or "paragangliomas." They are benign (not cancerous), but due to their location and vigorous blood supply, they can be very troublesome. Treatment requires surgery. 5. Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). AVMs are abnormal collections of arteries and veins. They sometimes occur within the cranial cavity near the auditory nerve. An AVM pulsating against the auditory nerve stimulates the nerve, resulting in a pulsating tinnitus. AVMs can occur as a result of trauma or due to abnormal development in the womb. For example, a person may be born with a small AVM that enlarges later in life. Treatment is usually surgical. 6. Carotid artery-cavernous sinus fistula. A fistula is an abnormal connection. Thus, carotid artery-cavernous sinus fistula is an abnormal connection between a very large artery and a very large "lake" of venous blood (not really a "sinus" in the sense of facial sinuses) within the cranial cavity. It is usually the result of severe head trauma. The fistula can be treated by a specialist in the field of interventional radiology. 7. Venous hum. Patients who are pregnant, are anemic or have thyroid problems may develop increased blood flow through the largest vein in the neck, the jugular vein. The jugular vein carries blood from the brain back to the heart. In so doing, it traverses the middle ear. Turbulent blood flow anywhere in the course of the jugular vein can be heard in the middle ear as a "hum" which may or may not fluctuate with the pulse. Correction or resolution of the underlying problem often results in improvement.There are other, less common, causes of vascular tinnitus, but these are the "biggies." I recommend that you see an ear, nose and throat specialist for a comprehensive evaluation, because (as you can see from this list) many of the possible explanations are NOT trivial!"

The carbonfibre monocoque won't come cheap though - €30,000 is being mooted.

Interestingly, cameras replace the side mirrors to minimize the drag coefficient.

The 300kg body will be powered by a new two-cylinder turbodiesel with a mild hybrid system that would allow full-electric operation under some circumstances.

Your €30k will include ABS/ESP, a driver's airbag, sequential motorbike-style six speed transmission as well as LED head and taillights. Air-conditioning will be an option.

Looks like something Buckminster Fuller might have designed in the thirties eh?

To anyone who thinks that spas are expensive to fill and take up too much water in dry spells during the summer I would just like to say that like everyone else, my husband and I are concerned about being “green” and making the most of clean water as well as saving money. Therefore when our spa is due to be drained and the water changed, we simply decant the old water into large water containers and use it to flush the toilet. As we use the spa aromatherapy liquids, the water smells sweet and it is surprising how quickly the water is used up - spas don’t consume as much water as you would think - but also it has reduced our annual water bill by £50 this year!

NSPF website goes Spanish.

The National Swimming Pool Foundation in the USA has launched a Spanish version of its website at www.nspf.org/espanol.

In addition to helping Spanish speakers in America, the site aims to provide pool health and safety information to native Spanish speakers in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Spain itself.

The NSPF says the English version of the site receives 40,000 visitors per month.

Key pages in the Spanish section describe educational programmes, online training opportunities, NSPF products, information on the World Aquatic Health Conference, research, news and other articles, resources and links, and the online shopping section.

Commenting on the launch of the site, NSPF CEO Tom Lachocki said: “This parallel website is the next step in the NSPF’s effort to bring leading prevention information to a broader world audience. Outbreaks of illness or drownings are bad whether they are in Bogota, Barcelona or Boston.”

If you're into optimizing your site or getting more traffic - more people reading your blog or buying your stuff - then check this out. Yeah I know I've enthused about SEO experts like Brad Callen, Aaron Wall, Mind Valley Labs and others before. But now I have a new guru - Stompernet (yeah, cheesy name isn't it?). Online marketing genius (and fellow surfer) Frank Kern told me about this. But he tells me about a lot of stuff. He's one of those guys who tends to get excited about things so I didn't take too much notice at first. But then I went and checked out the videos these guys are making and...Wow - pretty slick. And then...they kept saying they were launching something last Friday and I had to be part of it yada yada yada. So I thought, what the hell, they already have my email address so I gave it to them again and signed up for them to do a report on my site - this site. Unreal. About ten minutes later back comes this quite comprehensive report on all sorts of shit - how many pages you have indexed on Google, what Google thinks your site is about, your links, your Title and Meta Tags, on-page SEO factors, off-page factors, keyword analysis. You can get all this stuff by visiting all the trackers like Alexa, Yahoo, Technorati etc. But these guys do it all for you. FREE. Really. FREE. And they tell you what to fix (I just completely rewrote my Title and Meta descriptions). Have a look. It'll cost you nothing. Give them a bodgey email address if you're worried about being spammed.

Google screenshotWow...look at this. Months ago I wrote a piece about "Getting Videos to Top of Google" And look at this screen shot from today. Look who's at #2 out of 34.2 Million Results. And #1 out of 16.8 Million Results for the keywords variation "Getting Your Videos on Top of Google" (results will differ depending what country's Google Search you're using. One result showed me #1 out of 92 Million). It's even better on Yahoo - #1 out of 76 Million results. How did I achieve that? With this new program called...another cheesy name coming up...Traffic Geyser. So far I've uploaded 4 videos and they've all gone straight to Number One Spot on Google and been highly placed on Yahoo and the others. Very impressive. Normally I would call Bullshit to people claiming to guarantee Top Google Search Engine results. Not this time. It builds strong links as well. Costs a buck for a two week trial.

Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, announced last month that Google accounted for 63.98 percent of all US searches in the four weeks ending September 1, 2007. Yahoo! Search, MSN Search and Ask.com each received 22.87, 7.98 and 3.41 percent respectively. BTW I use the web host Squarespace out of New York and I've been with them for two years. Google Search loves Squarespace. If you click on the "Powered by Squarespace" button on the navigation Column on the left it'll take you to their site where you can get a month's Free Trial and get to play with their different templates. You don't even need to give them a credit card number and can be up and running in minutes. And if you pay for the Advanced service like I'm on you get all the bells & whistles for $17 a month (well worth it). It comes with a powerful tracker so you can see where your traffic's coming from and what people are reading. I refer to it every day.

If you're interested in Video Compressions for YouTube you'll find it here where I talk about DIVX - I've been compressing using H264 Codec Using these parameters - .mov file set to "high" quality, 480 × 360 dimensions, keyframes every 210, limit data rate to 1500k, use the "streaming" option with AAC sound at 96kb.

I've discovered I can compress the crap out of videos using DivX Converter

- handy when you need to bring your YouTube or other videos in under 100Mb. You can preselect how big you want the file to be.

Then they further compound the error by asking us We Give it Life and Page Rank? There again...maybe it's a deliberate ploy to attract your eye. It's from a mob called OMG-1 - meaning Oh my God - You're one! perhaps.
